Grumpy Granite Rockhopper can be caught with Smoke Bombs in the Elderwood, commonly near bodies of water.
Like other Elderwood bugs, they are occasionally infected with Infected Essence and require Elderwood Smoke Bombs to catch. These are easily identifiable by their dark purple aura.
Grumpy Granite Rockhoppers are alerted by nearby player movement and Smoke Bombs and will hop away a short distance before briefly pausing.
