How to Obtain

Infected Essence can be obtained from various sources in the Elderwood after the Player completes part 4 of the quest: The Nature of Shadows.

Infected Essence can be collected in its pure, floating form throughout the Elderwood. Droplets contain either 1 - 3 Infected Essence or 5 - 8 Infected Essence. The droplets containing more essence can be spotted using a Dowsing Rod.

Infected Essence can also be collected from hunting or foraging infected creatures and plants, as well as infected fishing nodes. However, the Player must use special Elderwood tools to harvest the essence from these infected beings, or have a Bag of Illusion equipped.

Notes

• Infected Essence can be stacked up to 999 in the Player's Inventory, but does not count towards the Storage capacity of the Housing Plot.
• Infected fishing nodes only give basic fish and essence, not star quality fish.
