Personalidade

Kenli is the kind, friendly mayor of Kilima Village, eager to please and make his constituents feel welcome. Although he technically has the most authority in Kilima, his gentle disposition makes it hard for him to stand up to more authoritative personalities like those of his wife or sister. While Eshe is the one who busies herself with the paperwork and hunting down hooligans, Kenli prefers to chat with villagers and check in on their well-being personally, glad to provide some leeway for someone in need. He's often clumsy or scatterbrained, occasionally losing his hat or snacks in random places. Despite this, he tends to look on the bright side. He always takes the time to enjoy the small joys in life, such as savor a tasty meal or soak in a beautiful sunrise. He prefers to please people and nurture relationships with them, rather than incite order or set boundaries. He's also very social, often mingling among the other villagers or spending late nights in the inn.

História

Kenli was the firstborn of the prestigious Bahari family, who has governed the region for over a hundred generations. His family lived in a grand mansion in Bahari City, enough to house five generations at once with room to spare. His father favored his sister Kenyara over him, due to his lack of ambition. His closest family member was his grandmother, who often cooked dumplings for him, earning him the nickname "Little Dumpling."

Kenli and Kenyara met Eshe while attending the same elite school in Bahari.[1] He and Kenyara took Eshe under their wing, despite their parents' disapproval that she was the daughter of mere lawyers. Kenli had feelings for Eshe, although the feelings may have been one-sided. Eshe eventually chose to marry Kenli, at Kenyara's suggestion, as he was next in line to be Duke of Bahari. However, his father did not think Kenli would make a capable duke and passed the title of Duchess to Kenyara, despite her being the younger sibling. Instead, his father deemed him suitable to be a small town mayor, and Kenli settled down in Kilima with Eshe. Despite his big city upbringings, Kenli finds the quiet life suits him better.

Relacionamentos

Eshe

While Eshe Profile.png Eshe and Kenli's relationship may have once been sweet, it has long since soured into resentment due to their polar opposite approaches to governing the city and providing for their daughter. Since their wedding, Kenli and Eshe have very rarely been affectionate - their wedding being the last time they held hands. Kenli jokes that she married the wrong Bahari. Eshe can get argumentative and domineering when it comes to many aspects of their life, so Kenli often sneaks away or keeps his mouth shut to avoid a fight.

Kenyatta

Like Eshe, he also wants Kenyatta Profile.png Kenyatta to be successful in life, even if they can't agree what success looks like. Kenli is quite understanding of his daughter, although he has a hard time earning her respect due to his submissive tendencies. His past makes him more accepting of her desires to pursue a Path other than city governance.

Kenyara

Despite Kenyara and Eshe's feud, Kenli still believes his sister is a good person deep down, even if he may be biased as her brother. However, he is willing to acknowledge when she is being too harsh or not acting justly, and is willing to do what it takes to make it right.
