Maji Market: Summer 2023
The Maji Market is an event that takes place in the Fairgrounds, accessed in the Southeast corner of Kilima Valley.
Summary
The Maji Market takes place at the Kilima Village Fairgrounds, which is open exclusively in the evenings and through the night. It’s a space to gather with people of all ages, grab sweet and savory foods, listen to music, and watch the fireworks show together. You’ll be able to unlock a new mini-area within Kilima Village as you explore new quests, earn prizes, and collect all of the goodies every merchant has to offer. While you’re there, be sure to snap all of the photo ops, chase some chapaas, and find a surprise or two (depending on the drum beat 😉).
In the world of Palia, night markets take place all over, at various times of the year, with different cultural sights and activities unique to their respective regions. In the days when Kilima was a bustling trade hub, the village hosted night markets that were larger than life, such as the ones seen in Bahari City!
Lore
The market's name derives from Maji, the dragon god of the Majiri. It is said that Maji observes the celebrations from the comfort of his own realm. Some even believe he assumes different physical forms to partake in the events himself to bless them with good fortune. That is why it is common for Maji Markets to carry items bearing his semblance. Perhaps seeing himself reflected in festive objects fills him with much Oneness.[1]
Activities
The Chapaa Chase is a minigame you can play at the Maji Market Event to earn Chapaa Chase Tickets which can be exchanged for Plushies, Pillows and a Wallpaper.
It is only active during the night, from about 12:10am to 2:10am.
You will compete with other players to catch randomly appearing Chapaas. Run towards a Chappa, press the F-key, and when you hold a Chappa deliver it to the pen (next to the Chapaa Hut, where Kenyatta is standing). Simply come close to the pen, and it will automatically be put in there and counted. Catch as many Chapaa as you can during the chase.
Every Chapaa you deliver will give you 10x
Chapaa Tickets, which can be exchanged for rewards at the Chapaa Chase Prizes next to Kenyatta at the Chapaa Hut.

Update History
Build 0.167.2:Chapaa Chase Updates
- More Chapaas now spawn at the beginning of the mini-game.
- 50% more Chapaas now spawn per wave, and with 20% more frequency.
- Increased the size of the spawn zones, and added more of them.
- Added 1 additional Chapaa Chase ticket for every Chapaa rescued per each player actively chasing Chapaas during that session. So if a whole group captures 100 total Chapaas, each player who captures at least 1 will get 100 extra tickets.
Based on these changes, we’re now able to catch around 300 Chapaas per night during each round.
Stamp Card Improvements
When in a party, we lowered the Chapaa Chasers Party and Chapaa Champions Party requirements so that more people can obtain the accomplishments.
Chapaa Chase Store Updates
Added a new Maji the Dragon (water themed) plushie to the Chapaa Chase ticket store.
Build 0.167:Maji Market has arrived!
- Starting August 29th, 2023 through September 26th, you can visit the Maji Market from 6:00pm - 3:00am Palia time.

- The Maji Market is available for one month:
We will be sure to give you lots of notice before the party ends!
- I logged in, but I don’t see Maji Market!
- While you’re able to visit the Maji Market at any time, the festivities are only available from 6:00 pm to 3:00 am Palia time. That is the best time to enjoy some of our favorite rewards, but the fairgrounds will be available around the clock to hang out and fish.🎣
- What kind of goodies can I find at Maji Market?
- There are over 50 prizes, treats, and souvenirs you can find, entirely unique to Maji Market! Filling up your stamp card as you complete each activity will get you even more fun rewards. We don’t want to spoil any surprises (cough Chapaa Ice Pops cough) or give you too many hints (cough 8 different plushies cough), but here’s a tiny sneak peek at a selection of wares you can peruse.
- Will there be even more events in Palia in the future?
- The devs at Singularity 6 love a good event, and do hope to add more in the future! We will be drawing inspiration from holidays all across our own world while also coming up with ones that are uniquely Palian.
- Oh no, I can’t attend this month! Will Maji Market be back?
- If you have to miss Maji Market, don’t be sad! Everything you can get from Maji Market will be available sometime in the future. While we can’t share all the details just yet, just know they won’t be gone forever.
- I experienced a quest bug on the event, what should I do?
- Keep chill and relax, it is not a bug but rather a bad coding, see below for known issues section.
Known Issues
Issue #1: The Chapaa achievement counter is not going up or reporting ANY capture results.
This is a known bug in the game and has not yet been resolved. Some players report that during the Chapaa Chase event, even while in a party, their captures are not registered in their stamp book/event achievements.
Unofficial Potential Fix:
Note: I just ran this test with my wife and we got this working; however, it was one time. Please help us test this and report back in the discord! The TL;DR here is to get everyone on the map first, then create the party. The steps are below:
1) Go to the Maji Market
2) Disband/leave any party that you are currently in. If you're playing with friends, everyone should do this step.
3) Fully exit and re-launch your client from the desktop. (This is an assumption, and what I did in my latest test, unconfirmed)
4) If playing with friends, sync your friends first to your server before creating any party.
5) Create a party and invite your friends or others (who are now on the same map/instance as you).
6) Hopefully your stamp punch card should now properly trigger.
- My previous assumptions about "party leader" were proven wrong by my last test. Both my party members and I received credit this time, and I was the lead
With the latest increase in Chapaa spawning, hopefully, if you're able to at least trigger a stamp capture you'll have captured a lot more now than prior, thus increasing your chances to complete the stamp card. We urge players to continue to let the S6 staff know via the Palia Discord if these issues are still persisting. Thanks!
Issue #2: The Chapaa achievement counter is incorrectly reporting capture results above that of the required amount. (Updated as of latest patch)
Note: This is a visual glitch, and should not be confused with the actual known glitch for the party-related stamp where sporadic or no progress gets reported (Issue #1 above).
Many players are reporting that their capture amount surpasses the required amount of Chapaas for the Chapaa Champions Party stamps, and they aren't receiving any credit! If you reference the photo above, you can see that this player has captured 32 total chapaas and only needed 15, it should have went to the 3rd stage right? So here's what's happening in these instances.
Chapaa Champions Party consists of three total stamp levels (New tier numbers are reflected below as of the latest patch, previously they were much higher)
- Tier 1 - 5
- Tier 2 - 15
- Tier 3 - 25
The gist of this visual glitch is that the counter is never resetting on each tier, and when you see something like 7 out of 15 for tier 2, it REALLY means that you previously caught 5, and you've only added 2 to your counter, for a total of 7. This counter would then not complete Tier 2 until you're 20/15, at which point it SHOULD flip to the next tier. Also, you've probably noticed that the image above shows 32/15. Hold up my dude, that's well beyond the 20/15 you JUST stated?? Good catch! This is because I haven't run my Chapaa event after the patch yet, and I'm going to test this soon (or wait for feedback), but I have a hunch that the moment I sneeze at the event (as long as I don't run into Issue #1), it's going to re-sync itself and complete. Unfortunately, Issue #1 is literally what's causing the most direct and indirect issues, as well as confusion! If anyone has feedback on this, feel free to hit me up on the Palia discord (Etchavious) with your feedback and I'll make sure to correct this information!
Issue #3: I've eaten all the desserts and the Just Desserts stamp is only reporting 10/11!!!
Note: This quest requires you to eat 11 unique food items. Eating the same food item over and over does not count!
How to complete this quest
1) Make sure to eat all 10 foods at Delaila's stall.
- This does not include the "quest" item you had to consume prior which you were given for free.
- You need to re-purchase that item you ate prior to completing your quest.
- Once you consume that newly purchased food item, it will then register the 10th item.
2) Please note that Delaila's stall only contains 10 food items, you'll need to make sure you consume a food item from Kenyatta's stall to get your 11th!
