Nightshadow Batterfly can be caught with Smoke Bombs between the hours of 6:00 PM - 3:00 AM in the Elderwood, including Elderwood Caves and the Deep Woods.
Like other Elderwood bugs, they are occasionally infected with Infected Essence and require Elderwood Smoke Bombs to catch. These are easily identifiable by their dark purple aura.
Nightshadow Batterflies dart around in the air, pausing for several seconds before moving again. They are alerted by player movement and smoke bombs, and will attempt to flee.
