New Features & Updates
Prologue Finale
It’s adventure time... and we ain’t talkin' Toon Network. We're talking about the long-awaited conclusion to the Prologue of Palia's Main Story Questline.
Players who have completed Strange Things Afoot will have Auni visit your home plot to kick off this series of quests.
Join Subira and help her investigate a mysterious intruder by solving puzzles and riddles, exploring new areas, dodging lasers obstacles, and interacting with the environment as you complete four new quests: Troubled Waters, Into the Fire, Up in the Air, and Rooted in Place.
Keep your wits about you and complete the Prologue questline to earn a unique Nameplate… and possibly uncover vital information of cosmic proportion.
Winterlights Holiday Content
The Winterlights celebration is back!... soon. The update is all about change, and the Season of Splendor celebrates the beautiful transition from Fall to Winter.
On Tuesday, December 3, Kilima will change to Winter. This means all seasonal content introduced with the Autumn Awakening update will transition, including the closing of the Spooky Moon Store and Fall Foliage.
But when one shop closes, another opens! The Winterlights Store will open at the front of Zeki's General Store.
All Winterlights Store items will return along with some new seasonal offerings! Purchasable items include:

*NOTE: If you previously completed the Winterlights Wonder Quest, you will be able to purchase these immediately.
Palians experiencing Winterlights for the first time will want to share the joy of the season and light candles with Villagers to brighten their day and complete the Winterlight Wonder quest. During this quest, you’ll receive your very own Winterlights Tree.
If you've already completed the Winterlight Wonder quest last year, there is still plenty to discover.
The Winterlights Treasure Chests are back... and just because you might have discovered them all last year doesn’t mean you'll know where to look this time... because... you guessed it - they’ve (mostly!) been hidden in new locations. If you find them all, you’ll be able to purchase the recipes from last year's Winterlights event. Make sure to stop by the Zeki's counter in the general store for clues! Happy Holiday hunting!
Pond Plushes
Are you Pond(ering) how to catch your next favorite plush? Then you're in luck because four reely cute new plushes flop into Palia today.
Grab your fishing rod and cast a line into the nearest pond for an opportunity to hook a Catfish Plush, Yellow Koi Plush, Red Koi Plush, and the Mudminnow Plush.
Cast away!
Log-in Rewards and the Maji Market
As always, log-in at least once between 10 a.m. PT on Thursday, Nov. 21 and 10 a.m. PT on Tuesday, Dec. 3; and then again between 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday, Dec. 4 and 10 a.m. PT on Monday, Dec. 16.
You’ll receive one Potato Pod for each log-in reward period for an opportunity to earn a total of two Potato Pods for the duration of the Season of Splendor update.
And keep a lookout for your next Maji Market invitation in the mail! Just like last time, the Maji Market will only be open between the Palian hours of 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Maji Market will be open for only one week, starting on Tuesday, Dec. 3, with more opportunities to visit the market every four weeks.
Housing Tour Store Additions
Added two new Wallpapers and two new Floor decor options to the Housing Tour Store. Each new item can be purchased for 25 Tour Tickets each.
Improvements & Adjustments
Nintendo Switch Performance
The team is committed to making Palia the best possible experience for Palians playing on Nintendo Switch. We’ve made several impactful performance improvements across the past several weeks. We can now confirm with patch 0.186 hitting live that that these improvement milestones have landed well:
- Memory Management Enhancements: Fixed memory leak issues and improvedresource allocation to prevent crashes during extended gameplay sessions.
- Rendering Optimization: Optimized rendering processes for "ghost form" players that contributes to a lower memory footprint in high-density areas, such as Maji Market.
- Input Functionality Fix: Resolved an issue where the button occasionally became unresponsive, ensuring smoother interactions.
- Player Hitching: Fixed issues with player transitions from "ghost form" to full visibility that reduces hitching for a smoother gameplay experience.
- Crash Fixes: Resolved several triggerpoints for game crashes, such as issues with foliage and gamepad UI.
We know there’s still room to do more, and the team is hard at work to deliver additional performance improvements planned for patches 0.187 and 0.188.
Housing Plot Compass and Map Improvements
Added a compass on the Housing Plot that shows visiting Villagers, as well as exit locations to Kilima Valley and Bahari Bay. The housing plot map has been adjusted for better scale and readability, including location displays for the player character, visiting players, mailbox, shipping bin, and exits to Kilima Valley and Bahari Bay.
Balloon Pop!
Balloon decor items from the Maji Market will now pop when shot with an arrow! Don’t worry… your balloon decor will reinflate after a few seconds.
Trailblazer Outfit Backpack Toggle
Feeling encumbered? Take a load off with the Trailblazer Outfit backpack toggle! You can now switch the backpack on or off as you please.
