Quests are tasks requested by villagers for the player to complete. They are either short objectives, or a set of goals that must be performed.
Quests can be completed at any time, and have no time limit, however, some require specific quests be completed before the Player can progress.
The Player may receive rewards during, upon completion, or post-quest; these rewards typically include Renown, relationship improvements, and/or items.
Quests can be loosely divided into the following subcategories:
These quests cover the story of life in Palia. They will help the Player settle into the village, including meeting some key villagers and making Palia their home. The quests are mostly linear with a few exceptions.
These quests help understand the basics of the skill and teach how to wield the tools given to the Player by the Skill's local Guild Representative. They are short and straight to the point. The objectives may range from simple tasks, e.g. catch one fish, to more involved ones, such as placing, tilling, planting, and harvesting the first crops.
These quests are ones that do not fall under the other categories. They can sometimes be a subquest or a quest leading into another, such as a prerequisite.
These quests are unlocked as the Player improves their relationship with the villagers. Each villager has a set of unique quests. They contribute to the villager's overall lore and story. Some friendship quests are given by the villager, while others may be from their friends or family. There are currently four levels of friendship a Player can reach with each villager.
These quests are unique quests with romanceable villagers that also contribute to their overall lore and story. Similar to Friendship Quests, they can only be unlocked as the Player improves their romantic relationship with these villagers. Some quests are given by the villager while others may be from their friends or family. There are currently four levels of romance a Player can reach with each romanceable villager.

These quests are initiated by finding quest items hidden throughout Palia. Some items can be found in buildings while others require the Player to garden, mine, fish, or forage.
Event quests are those available for a limited time during special events. They contain unique storylines, experiences and rewards.
These quests are ones that do not show up in the quest log. There are hints hidden throughout Palia that the Player must follow. The Player usually receives some kind of reward for their effort. |
