Mining
Mining is a Skill in Palia which allows The Player to gather minerals to refine and use in crafting or sell for a profit.
The Mining Guild representative in Kilima Valley is Hodari.
“ | Scattered throughout the land of Palia are mining nodes where you may gather different materials that you can use to craft various items. From clay, stone, copper and iron, you can find these nodes on hillsides and rocky formations. Hodari is your point of contact for the Mining Guild, and you can usually find him in Bahari Bay. | ” |
Introduction
The player receives their first pick: Makeshift Pick from Hodari when they visit the Housing Plot for the first time.
While increasing the level of skill in Mining, the Player will be able to purchase equipment recipes from Hodari to make better picks and recipes for smelting more valuable bars.
Mechanics
Mining requires use of a pick.
Hit rocks and other mining nodes with a pick until they crumble.
After a node has been destroyed, the Player will see a ghosted version of the node, indicating that it is available for other players to acquire for a limited time. Mining nodes that have been mined by other players will show an added glow effect that will pulse more rapidly as the node gets closer to despawning.
Multiplayer
Multiple players can work together to mine nodes throughout Kilima and Bahari.
All players who hit the target rock will be awarded with loot after it has been destroyed.
Bonus: Players who are near their party members will receive loot for actions that their party members do. There is also a chance at earning double the loot!

There are 5 kinds of mining nodes:
- Clay
- Stone - also has a chance to provide Flint
- Copper - also has a chance to provide Silver
- Iron - also has a chance to provide Gold

Starstones
All mining nodes have a chance to drop Starstones.
Starstones are often sold for profit, but can also be gifted to Villagers, and Star Quality Starstones can be placed on the Housing Plot.
Tips and Tricks
Mining with a friend can increase the speed, and therefore yield, of acquired materials.
Palium Ore is very valuable to all Players, shout out it's location on the map, or mark it with a flare.
Scintillating Centipedes have a chance to spawn from mining nodes in Bahari Bay. When captured using the Bug Catching Skill, they drop Silk Thread which is rare, expensive, and valuable to all Players.
Repair your Pick regularly at the Blacksmith or the Player's Repair Station to keep it sharp, strong, and efficient.
Weekly Challenges
Weekly Challenges are skill-related Accomplishments that a player can complete once weekly upon reaching Mining Level 10. A player can complete up to 3 Weekly Challenges for Mining each week, awarding a total of 100 Mining Medals.
Weekly Challenges are currently the same every week, and reset every Monday at 4:00 AM UTC. Progress from uncompleted Challenges will carry over and count towards the following week.
