The Rainbow-Tipped Butterfly is an Epic bug in Palia.

“ Ancient legends say this rare butterfly got its beautiful coloring from dipping the tip of its wings in a Well of Flow. ”

The Rainbow-Tipped Butterfly is quite possibly the most difficult epic bug to find, in part because of its low spawn rate but also because of how well it blends in with the nearby Common Blue Butterflies. The Rainbow-Tipped Butterfly can only be differentiated by its white body and the prismatic tips of its wings.

How to Obtain

Bug Catching

The Rainbow-Tipped Butterfly can be found between the hours of 3:00 AM - 6:00 PM throughout the fields and cliffs of southern Bahari Bay, including Pulsewater Plains, Hideaway Bluffs, and above the Pavel Mines.

Players should be conscious of the fact that the Rainbow-Tipped Butterfly will disappear shortly after 6:00 PM, even if the Player is actively attempting to catch it. Because of this fact, it is recommended that players search for it during the morning hours or early in the day.

Behavior

The Rainbow-Tipped Butterfly is alerted by nearby player movement and Smoke Bombs and will attempt to flee. It does not stop moving once startled and is quite fast, so one strategy players can employ is using Sticky Smoke Bombs to slow it down.

The Rainbow-Tipped Butterfly is quite elusive, and may take dozens of Smoke Bombs to successfully catch. For this reason, it is a prime candidate for the 100% Catch Rate Supreme Smoke Bombs.
