Although their in-game descriptions say they are blue (and despite the name), they are better described as violet. Azure Stonehoppers are also slightly larger than the nearby Common Field Crickets, making them fairly easy to tell apart.
How to Obtain
Bug Catching
Azure Stonehoppers can be found on the fields and around the mountains of south Bahari Bay, including Pulsewater Plains, Hideaway Bluffs, and outside Pavel Mines at any time of day. Azure Stonehoppers spawn naturally and can be seen hopping along the ground.
Behavior
Azure Stonehoppers are alerted by nearby players and Smoke Bombs, hopping away a short distance before briefly pausing. This pause gives the player opportunity to throw another Smoke Bomb.
Drops
There is a chance the Azure Stonehopper will drop the following item when caught:
1 - 7 Silk Thread
Because they can be found all day, are easy to spot, and are one of the easiest rare bugs to catch, they are also considered one of the most reliable sources to obtain Silk Thread.
