Palia is the world the game takes place in.
Summary
In Palia, humans are the legendary race, having disappeared thousands of years ago at the height of their grandeur and mastery of magic. Nobody in the modern day knows why. Until one day humans begin to appear all over the world. As one of the newly re-emerged humans, players will have to make themselves a new home in this friendly world, and forge a future for themselves and humanity.[1]

Time in Palia is measured on a 24 hour in-game clock. One in-game day passes every hour of real-world time, and each in-game hour takes two and a half minutes.

Time and Game Mechanics
The in-game clock and day/night cycle affect other in-game systems:
- Certain Bugs, Creatures and Fish, as well as certain Gatherables, are only spawned during specific times. For example, Wild Garlic only spawns at night.
- Some Gatherables, such as Dari Cloves, Heartdrop Lilies, Mountain Morels, and Sweet Leaf despawn at the end of their appearance schedule.
- Crop growth is measured in in-game days.
- Palia's Majiri Villagers follow a schedule that sets their location and activities according to the in-game clock.
