Hi! 👋 In the Palia community I'm generally known as Ivy. I'm a 32 year old woman with Autism and ADD, from a rainy European country called The Netherlands. I started playing Palia shortly after the Open Beta release, but didn't actively play until November 2023. It's been my comfort game ever since and I'm extremely excited to see where it's going! I'm especially impatient for the Elderwood update in 2025!!!

Gift Testing

The first project I started contributing to. Gift testing simply means gifting items to Villagers, with help of the Gift Testing spreadsheet (not made by me!), to see if the Villager accepts it when it's not their Weekly Want. Whether they accept it or not will be added to the Gifting section of the item page (example). This also means keeping track of newly added items that can be gifted.

Dialogue Pages

At first I simply added more dialogues to the pages, mostly responses to gifts since I was already getting a lot of that during gift testing. While adding dialogues, I found myself struggling to find the correct sections to add specific dialogues to. The Gifting Dialogue section was the first bit I set up a new format for, which I hoped would make both reading and editing it easier. After expanding to other dialogue types, I started thinking of a new format for the whole Dialogue page. I suggested these changes, got the green light to set up what I had in mind and created the Tab Outlines listed above.

Altica did some tweaking and turned everything into a neat template which can be seen here.

Translations

I've always loved translating, so once translating for Dutch was made available, I hopped right in. These days I don't have as much concentration for it as I used to though, but I try to add more translations whenever I can.

On May 24, 2024 I got promoted to Translation Manager! Woop! This means I can mark pages for translation (aka they will be made available to translators). Got the Extended Editor role simultaneously on that day, so very cool. :D
