Foraging
Foraging is a Skill in Palia which allows The Player to harvest gatherables in the wild and cut down trees.
The Foraging Guild representative in Kilima Valley is Ashura.
“ | Foraging involves 2 activities: harvesting natural resources that you might find while exploring, and chopping down trees to collect lumber and wood. Remember, the bigger the tree, the stronger your axe will need to be to chop it down! Ashura leads the Foraging Guild from the Ormuu’s Horn Inn. | ” |
Introduction
The player initially receives a Makeshift Axe from Ashura during the introductory quest: Welcome to Palia.
While progressing the Foraging Skill, the Player will be able to purchase equipment recipes from Ashura to make better axes and refine wood.
Mechanics
Picking up gatherables in Palia does not require any equipment, but Foraging trees involves cutting them down with an axe.
Gatherables will persist for other players for a short time after it is first picked.
- Common and uncommon gatherables last 30 seconds
- Rare gatherables last 2 minutes
- Epic gatherables last 5 minutes
Multiplayer
Multiple players can work together to chop down bushes and trees.
All players who assist in chopping down any bush or tree will be rewarded with the resulting loot.
Bonus: Players who are near party members that felled a tree will also receive loot. Loot dropped in this way will be the same across each player. There is also a chance at earning double the loot!
Note: Multiple players are often needed to work together to chop down Flow-Infused trees, since the flow regenerates the tree faster than the typical solo Palian can swing an axe. However, one Palian can chop small and medium trees by themselves. Trees infused with Flow will have a pink and purple glow and will regenerate when chopped.
Trees
“ | Palia is full of many different types of beautiful trees. Chopping these down can grant different wood depending on the type of tree. They can also yield seeds to plant new trees. | ” |
Bushes, tiny, small, medium, and large trees all require use of an axe to acquire the following:
Gatherables
