- Player

Dialogue and Mail
Introduction
Upon logging into the game for the first time
- Jina
- OH. MY. DRAGON!!! Did... did... you... just... materialize from nowhere?
- Player
- More like from a spiraling pink void.
- Jina
- Oh, no! Tell me more about the void.
- None of the other Humans remember where they came from. So this is kinda a big deal.
- Player
- Not sure, but I'm glad to be here!
- Jina
- Wow...I mean, I'd heard Humans had starting appearing out of nowhere in scared sites around Palia.
- But, I didn't know that meant appearing LITERALLY OUT OF NOWHERE.
- Player
- Well, I'm here, aren't I?
- Jina
- Oh, oh! Can you tell me more about where you came from?
- None of the other Humans remember. So this is kinda a big deal.
- Player
- Other Humans?
- Jina
- Yep, you're not the first Human I've seen in Palia.
- Just the first I've seen... you know, appear in a giant cocoon of light.
- Player
- Sorry, that's all I've got.
- Jina
- Right...we'll talk about all that later once you're settled in.
- We should slow down. Why don't you take this map and head into town where you can talk to Ashura, the Innkeeper? He's been helping others like you get settled in.
- I would help you myself, but I'm working on something here, and I'm this close to figuring it out.
- I was so caught off guard I realized I forgot to introduce myself or explain why I'm here. The name's Jina. I'm an apprentice scholar researching these old ruins.
- And this here is my research assistant, Hekla! Be sure to ask her if you have any questions. I've gotta get back to the grind.
Progression
Upon interacting with Ashura
- Ashura
- Welcome to Kilima! I'm sure this is quite a lot to take in.
- I'm Ashura, the innkeeper at the Ormuu's Horn. Unfortunately, there isn't any room at the inn right now.
- But we do have some old plots to the northeast where you could build yourself a tent.
- Whaddya say? You wanna take in the great outdoors?
- Player
- Nothing like sleeping under the stars!
- Ashura
- The night sky here is beautiful. I'm sure you'll love it.
- Player
- I'm not the camping type.
- Ashura
- I hear you. I slept in a tent for years while I was a soldier, never quite got used to it.
- Well, after you get your tent set up, maybe we can talk to the mayor about getting you in something more permanent.
- Player
- I'm just glad I have a place to sleep.
- Ashura
- I would want someone to set me up with a place to sleep and something to eat if I materialized out of nowhere!
- Why would I not do the same for you?
- So, let's see, to build a tent you're going to need to collect some materials.
- I've got an axe here for you, but you'll have to talk to our resident miner Hodari about the pick.
- Lucky for you, he's checking out the plots right now. You'll want to take the road up the hill to the northeast. Here, I've marked the spot on your map.
- If you get lost, just come back here and I'll get you sorted out.
Upon talking to Hodari:
- Hodari
- Hm... s'comin' along. Lotta trash left, though... oh. Hi.
- Hodari Pavel, of Pavel Mining. What can I do ya for?
- Player
- Ashura sent me for a pickaxe.
- Hodari
- Right. Ashura's sent several of you newfolk my way.
- S'the whole reason I'm checkin' out the soundness of these campsites. Don't need you all buried in mud.
- In fact, this one's about ready for use if you want iti. Just needs a bit more work.
- I see you've got an axe already. Here, take this pick, too.
- Always good to have the right tool for the right job. Use 'em both to clear this debris, would you?
- Player
- You can tell me how you got those biceps.
- Hodari
- Oh, uh... Mostly from minin', I guess.
- Here, if you're interested in workin' out, why don't you take this pick?
- I see you got an axe already. Always good to have the right tool for the right job. Use 'em both to clear this debris, would you?
- Player
- Am I in the right place?
- Hodari
- If you're currently without a home and lookin' for one, then yeah, y'are.
- Player
- Hi, I'm (Player)!
- Hodari
- (Player), huh? Interesting name...
- I assume Ashura sent you over. Been sendin' a lot of newfolk my way lately.
- Minin's hungry work, so you better take this too. My daughter says I need to eat healthier, but you'll get more use outta it.
Upon talking to Hodari after clearing debris
- Hodari
- Still lots to do, but it's a start.
- Player
- I found this weird thing.
- Hodari
- ...Huh. Found a lotta strange things in the mines, but not sure what that is.
- Well, you found it, so you keep it. S'your plot after all.
- I've got other plots to inspect, but there should be space to drop this worktable down now. I suggest you focus on getting a roof over your head and a place to keep your things before you worry about glowin' tubes.
- Player
- So what now?
- Hodari
- I go fix up another plot and get another one of you moved in. Stream's been near-constant since the first one came.
- As for you, should be space to drop this worktable down now. Tent, storage chest... you'll figure the rest out.
- ...Bye.
Upon talking to Auni
- Auni
- Whew, good, you haven't left yet!
- My mom, Delaila, told me there was another new Human in town, and here you are! I ran ALL the way from the farm here!
- She wanted you to have this housewarming gift: fresh dairy from the Daiya family farm! Welcome to Kilima!
- And I wanted you to have your mail! I'm Auni, and I handle all the deliveries around here.
- Twice a day every day, rain or shine! Six in the morning and six at night!
- So, I think it's safe to say my job is about to get A LOT more interesting.
- Do you like getting mail? You look like someone who would like getting mail...
- Player
- I love getting mail!
- Auni
- Good! Then I bet you'll be happy with what I have for you.
- Player
- Looks can be deceiving!
- Auni
- Maybe with the right mail, you'll change your mind.
- C'mon, go check it out! It's your first mail delivery... EVER.
Letter from Einar
Dear (Player),
I have been informed by Jina that you have emerged fully formed from the swirling mist. This is wonderful news! Happy day of mist-birthing to you, new human.
Other humans call me Einar, and I would like to share with you the joy of fishing. Please take this rod into your possession and seek me out at your nearest convenience. I shall be located at the pier for the next few millenia.

Conclusion
Upon talking to Auni
- Auni
- So, how are you settling in? This plot's HUUUGE! I heard you can find some pretty cool stuff in the dirt.
- My dad found an old copper arrowhead in our yard last week. But all I ever seem to find are rocks...
- Player
- Well, I found this strange artifact...
- Auni
- Oh, WOW! What does it do?
- Player
- No idea.
- Player
- Does a weird glowing tube count?
- Auni
- oh, WOW! It definitely counts! Have you figured out what it does yet?
- Player
- Not yet.
- Hmmm... I bet Jina might know! She's always hanging out in ruins. You should see if she's found something like this before.
- OH YEAH! I almost forgot in all the excitement. I brought a present for you too!
- A Bug Scouts official belt! And a set of smoke bombs, too! I'm a member of Kilima's best and only bug catching club.
- I gotta run now, but if you stop by later I'll give you some tips on how to use them.
- But I bet you're hungry right now. You should talk to my dad, Badruu, to learn how to grow food. And Reth, who works at the inn, can teach you how to cook it!
- You know, everyone's waiting to meet you! Come on, I'll race ya out!
Optional Dialogue
Talking to Jina before leaving
- Jina
- Why don't you come back when my head's spinning just a little less?
Asking Hekla questions
- Hekla
- Hello, Human. I know you must have many questions about your spontaneous emergence.
- Your presence heralds much change in the world of Palia.
- Player
- What am I?
- Hekla
- You are a Human being...an ancient thing this world has not seen in many rotations around the Sun.
- Beyond that, you shall have to answer the question of "what you are" for yourself. As do we all.
- Player
- Who are you?
- Hekla
- I am Hekla. It is my duty to aid and protect the young scholar known as Jina.
- This occurence...comes as a great surprise to young Jina.
- I on the other hand, found it inevitable.
- You were bound to return one day...why not today?
- Player
- Why was your friend so freaked out?
- Hekla
- Organic beings are often shocked at the emergence of new things, are they not?
- This world has not seen your kind in thousands of rotations.
- Be patient with it as it learns to accomodate[sic] you once again.
Talking to Hekla again before leaving
- Hekla
- We will speak again in time. For now, go out and explore your new world.
Talking to Ashura before heading to Hodari
- Ashura
- You'll find Hodari at the housing plots. Just go northeast up the hill.
Talking to Hodari before completing the debris task
- Hodari
- Just restin' my back a bit. Been workin' all day. You just keep on clearin' that junk.
Notes
- This is the very first quest you get in the game.
- You can't travel to Bahari Bay until you've placed your tent.
- None of the villagers will move. Make sure to introduce yourself to all of them.
- The only players you will see are the ones that are also on this quest.
- You are free to explore the valley and collect Treasure Chests, but you won't be able to store any of the items and you'll fill up your inventory. You are free to sell the items to the shops, however.
