Currency
Within Palia there are various types of Currency that can be used by The Player to acquire things such as items, inventory upgrades, housing extensions, tool repairs, and furniture. Each of the various currencies can be earned through different means, including questing, looting treasure chests, selling eligible items, accomplishments, leveling skills, and Villager relationship progression.
Palian Currency can be broken down into three main categories: General, Limited-Time, and Premium.
Currency is either tracked as a non-item accumulative total shown on the Player's Inventory panel and other related interfaces, or as a physical item that can be collected, spent, or stored.
General Currency
Gold
Gold is the most basic currency of Palia. It is the primary means of obtaining Backpacks, Storage Chests upgrades, Wallpaper, Flooring, and certain Cooking recipes. Gold can also used to purchase certain materials and Customization items that could alternatively be obtained by the Player using their Skills.
Gold is tracked in the Player's inventory, and does not take up any space in storage.
Renown
Renown is the second-most common currency in Palia. It is generally used to increase the Player's maximum Focus, and their focus bonus. Renown can also be used to unlock undeveloped land on the Player's Housing Plot, and to purchase select Housing items at City Hall.
Renown is tracked in the Player's inventory, and does not take up any storage space.
Skill Medals
Each skill has its own medals which are used exclusively to purchase items from their respective Guild Store. Skill Medals unlock at level 10 for each individual skill, and are acquired from the Player's continued efforts to hone their crafts from Weekly Challenges and leveling up.
Skill Medals are tracked directly under each of the related skill level trackers in the Player's inventory window.
Lucky Coins
Lucky Coins are a very unique currency in Palia. They are gifted to the Player for spending money at the General Store, and are used in combination with Zeki's Wondrous Machine for a chance to win prizes that range from the mundane to the very desirable. There are only a couple of ways to obtain Lucky Coins, and in general are seen as an optional pursuit, rather than necessary.
Lucky Coins are an inventory item, and count towards the total when stored in the Housing Plot.
Limited-Time Currency
Limited Currencies are tracked in the Player's Inventory window, above the backpack, next to Gold and Renown.
While the related event is active, the appropriate currency will be visible, but when there is no event, it will be hidden.
Chapaa Chase Tickets
Chapaa Chase Tickets are a currency exclusive to the general Maji Market event and only visible in the Player's Inventory while that event is ongoing. The Player can earn these tickets by participating in the different activities and quests associated with the market. Additionally, they can only be spent at the various limited vendors during the same event that they are earned.
Lucky Envelopes
Lucky Envelopes are a currency exclusive to the Luna New Year event and only visible in the Player's Inventory while that event is ongoing. The Player can earn these envelopes by participating in the different activities and quests associated with Luna New Year. Additionally, they can only be spent at the market's limited vendors during the same event they are earned.
Prize Wheel Coins
Prize Wheel Coins are a currency exclusive to the Luna New Year event and only visible in the Player's Inventory while that event is ongoing. The Player can earn these coins by spending Lucky Envelopes at vendors associated with Luna New Year. Prize Wheel Coins are used in combination with Zeki's Prize Wheel for a chance to win prizes related to the event.
Prize Wheel Coins are an inventory item, and count towards the total when stored in the Housing Plot.
Premium Currency
Palia Coins
Palia Coins cannot be obtained through in-game means, they may only be purchased with real money through the Currency Store. Palia Coins can be spent at the Premium Store to obtain exclusive outfits.
Note: After purchasing a requisite amount of Palia Coins, the Player will earn themselves unique accessories - specifically Pets.
To see how many Palia Coins the Player has, they can open the Currency Store.
