The Backpack, identified by the Sack icon, is the default section of the Inventory and displays all items carried by the The Player, except Ammo and Quest Items.

Mechanics

Access the Inventory, and by default the Backpack, via the Player Menu by using key on PC ( on Switch), or via the quick access key / on PC; Inventory is the first item on the Switch menu, so clicking after could be quick.

The Backpack is organized into five rows of eight slots, for a total of 40 slots.

Backpack Slots

Action Bar

Quick access to the contents of the Player's Backpack can be made via the Action Bar feature of the game's main interface.

At any given time, one row (8 slots) of the Backpack is visible. Using the corresponding number key for each slot ( for selecting a slot on Switch, then ) will allow the Player to select an item and, as example, use it if it is a Consumable. The Player can cycle through available rows using the mouse wheel ( arrow buttons on Switch).

Slot Capacity

Most items can stack up to 30 items per slot.

Some exceptions:

  • Fish - 5 fish of same type, per stack
  • Leather Leather, Sernuk Hide Sernuk Hide and Fabric Fabric - 50 items per stack
  • Materials - 100 items per stack

Backpack Upgrades

The Player begins with two rows (16 slots) unlocked. Further rows can be unlocked by purchasing upgrades from the Backpack sign located inside the General Store in Kilima Village, with the first upgrade being initiated through a quest.
