Inventory
The Inventory consists of the content of the Player's backpack. It allows the Player to carry items as they travel around Palia.
Mechanics
The inventory is organized into rows of eight (8), and the Player starts with two (2) rows (16 slots) initially available.
One row can be selected at a time to provide immediate access to items and equipment, commonly referred to as the action bar. It is possible to select different items in the action bar by pressing the number key associated with that slot. Different rows of the inventory can be selected using the mouse wheel (or ___ on Switch).
The Inventory menu displays the entire contents of the backpack in the bottom right corner and gives the Player the means to move items inside of the backpack. As the backpack is upgraded, the greyed out rows will become available for use.
Inventory Overflow
Once all the inventory slots are taken, the inventory will turn red to indicate that no further slots are available. Should you pick up a new item still, the overflow warning will trigger and you have a limited time to choose what to discard and then move the overflow into the newly emptied slot.
Slot Capacity
Most items can stack up to 30 items in one slot before starting a new stack in a new inventory slot.
Some exceptions are:
- Fish - 5 items per stack.
- Leather, Sernuk Hide, Fabric - 50 items per stack.
- Materials and Equipment - 100 items per stack:
Discarding Items
To discard an item from the inventory, drag it over the small bin Trash can in the lower left corner of the inventory screen. Alternatively you can slect the item by clicking it once, then clicking on the trash can. This will destroy the item permanently and cannot be reversed.
Backpack Upgrades
The inventory can be expanded three times in sections of eight, up to 40 total slots, by purchasing Backpack Upgrades at Zeki's General Store.
