For more information, see Sernuk (Species).

The Sernuk is a huntable creature found throughout Palia.

The Sernuk or Common Sernuk is a Deer-like creature with black eyes, a brown body, and white markings on its chest, belly, and face. Additionally, it is crowned with pair of simple, brown antlers.

Sernuk can be found commonly all around Kilima Valley and Bahari Bay. Their main spawn locations are: Mirror Fields, Leaf Hopper Hills, Whispering Banks, Pulsewater Plains, add further spawning locations.
Rarely, Sernuks may also be found outside of these locations after being chased there by players.

When left alone, Sernuks will be in an idle state, displaying a number of idling behaviors. An idle Sernuk will walk around close to its spawning location, occasionally stopping to bend its head to eat grass. (This does not actually affect any foliage around the Sernuk).

When a player enters a Sernuk's attention range or either hits or barely misses it with a hunting arrow, the Sernuk will enter its alarmed or chase state and begin running away from the threat.
In this state, it will keep running, randomly changing direction to avoid players. After a few seconds without detecting any threat, the Sernuk will reset to its idling behavior state(though any damage done to the Sernuk will not reset.)

Sernuks have 15 Health and require two hits with Makeshift Arrows or one hit with a Standard Arrow or above to be felled.
