The Lunar Fairy Moth is an Uncommon bug in Palia.

Description

“ The Lunar Fairy Moth is said to have a very special connection to the Dragon Moon, and is said to only appear at special times during its cycle. Found in the fields and forests of Bahari Bay during the evening and night. ”

How to Obtain

Bug Catching

Lunar Fairy Moths can be found from 6:00 PM - 3:00 AM intermixed with the more common Kilima Night Moths throughout Pulsewater Plains and Hideaway Bluffs in south Bahari Bay.

They can also be found among the Paper Lantern Bugs in north Bahari Bay, including the Flooded Steps, The Outskirts, the Thorny Thicket, Proudhorn Pass, and the Statue Garden, during these same hours.

The Lunar Fairy Moth stands outs in the darkness from Kilima Night Moths thanks to its brighter fur, but can be more difficult to spot alongside Paper Lantern Bugs due to their glow. As such, it is generally recommended that players looking for Lunar Fairy Moths do so in south Bahari Bay.

Behavior

Lunar Fairy Moths are alerted by player movement and Smoke Bombs, and will attempt to flee. Although Lunar Fairy Moths fly in a straight line, they do not stop once they begin moving. It is fairly slow-moving, however, so players should continue to throw additional Smoke Bombs before the Lunar Fairy Moth disappears.
