Keyed In is a Found Item Quest started by finding a Pulsing Key while using a Hoe to till Soil in your Housing Plot.

Objectives

Part 1

Talk with Jina about the mysterious key.

Part 2

Jina is busy defusing the magic bomb you found. She asked you to check around and see anyone in the villager [sic] knows anything useful about its maker.

Ask around about your plot's prior resident.

Part 3

Return to Jina with what you learned. Hopefully it can help defuse the situation.

Walkthrough

While tilling your garden, you will randomly find a Pulsing Key. What could this be? Take it to Jina and see if she knows about it.
Jina will cautiously tell you about the Pulsing Key you found. It seems to be a bomb of sort with a special word lock. Jina encourages you to ask around about the previous owner of your Housing Plot to find clues.
Get investigating!
- You can talk to the following villagers to get hints of who used to live on your housing plot: Ashura, Caleri, Elouisa, Eshe, Hassian, Jel, Kenli, Reth, Sifuu, and Tish.
- If you prefer to go straight to the answer, hint: talk to Elouisa, Eshe, and Ashura.
Find Jina right away and tell her what you learned.
- Answer: The answer for Jina's question is One-Eyed Sheremy.

Dialogue and Mail

Introduction

Upon asking Jina about the key

Player: Hey, what is this thing?
Jina: Uh... Maybe we should take that out of the village. Like... now.; You... didn't try using this on any doors did you?
Player: Why?
Jina: That's an Unstable Unlocker. In simpler terms, a magic bomb.

Player: (Immediately drop the key on the ground)

Player: What!? I have to get rid of it.

Player: How can I set it off?!

Player: I bet I can defuse it!

Jina: No need for that. Please!; Hand that here... thank you.; It's a type of security. If the wrong person tries to open the wrong door with it... well...; Let's just leave it at "Kablooey".; Completely illegal, and completely magical.; I will take this somewhere... safer... than... leaving it with you.; Sorry. I tried to think of a nicer way to say that, but I was anxious about getting blown up.; If you want to help, I need you to find out more about its previous owner.; Ask around town about the guy who used to live on your plot. I think his name was Florencio... or something like that.; Certain information will be crucial to disarming this.

Player: I found a magic bomb on my housing plot!
Ashura: Sounds like Reth has been serving you too much soup lately.; Where'd you get this... "bomb"?
Player: A previous tenant forgot it outside my house!
Ashura: Previous tenant... you talking about Florentine?; He was always inventing weird little things. Every so often they were even useful.; He'd bring whatever he was tinkering with down to the Inn sometimes to show it off.; Always brought that palcat down with him too...; I loved seeing his wild ideas, but that palcat... woof!
Player: What was wrong with the palcat?
Ashura: It used to tussle with Zeki's palcat. Think that's why Zeki stopped coming around here.; What was it's name? Oh!; One-Eyed Sheremy. Which was weird, because it still had both eyes...; Anyway, try not to blow us all up, ok?

Player: Who used to live on my housing plot?
Ashura: You must be talking about Florentine.; He was always inventing weird little things. Player: I found a magic bomb on my housing plot!
Elouisa: WHAT!?!!; You dug up a magic bomb without me? Awww...; I was the first person you came to, right?

Player: ... Yes?
Elouisa: Then where is it?; Oh... you were lying to protect my feelings.; Well, I appreciate you coming to me eventually.

Player: Uh... no.
Elouisa: Well, I appreciate you coming to me eventually.

Player: Who used to live on my housing plot?
Elouisa: Oh... Florentine! We used to discuss theories... well, when they weren't being reclusive.

If I know Florentine, and I know Florentine, you probably found his Unstable Unlocker.; He used to show me all sorts of magic items! Many of which did not work!; Inventing is a procession of failure marching towards success, after all...; Anyway, I am sure the key is probably not going to explode. Just... give it to me?; For... research.
Player: I don't think Jina will let me...
Elouisa: Ugh, fine!; Bring the next explosive doodad or magical what-have-you straight to me, ok?; I promise not to use it for anything too weird.

Player: I found a magic bomb on my housing plot!
Eshe: Do I look like your landlord?; I suppose I do.; Nevertheless, you agreed to handle any maintenance issues yourself.; Read over the paperwork while I head to the mayoral emergency bunker.
Player: Wait, who lived there before me?
Eshe: Ugh... Florentine.

Player: Who used to live on my housing plot?
Eshe: Ugh... Florentine.

Charming fellow, if you consider illegally tinkering with human magic "charming".; ...; I guess it is, in a certain literal sense.
Player: Can we disenchant something of his?
Eshe: We? No. You? Why not. You'll need to know the secret phrase tied to the spell.; Just do it quietly, and far away from me.; Really though, I suggest you send whatever you found back where it came from and forget about it.; Just like I did with... what was his name?

Player: Do you know who lived on my housing plot?
Hassian: No.

Player: Who used to live on my housing plot?
Jel: Oh! That fantastical fellow...; Unfortunately, they mostly kept to themself. I'm afraid I lack any juicy gossip to share.; That is more Eshe's forte, after all.

Player: Who used to live on my housing plot?
Kenli: Oh! Hmmm... I would have to go through A LOT of old paperwork. So...; Maybe try asking someone who isn't currently on a snack break. Like Eshe!

Player: Who used to live on my housing plot?
Reth: Their favorite soup was... what was it...?; Lettuce? Ten Cheese? Man, I just can't remember...

Player: Who used to live on my housing plot?
Sifuu: Woah, blast form the past! What was his name...; Frank? No...; Maybe you should ask Ashura. He's a bit better with names than I am.

Player: Who used to live on my housing plot?
Tish: That certainly were an... interesting inventor!; We didn't talk much though...; I think they used to frequent the Inn. Maybe ask Ashura?

Conclusion

Upon telling Jina what you learned

Jina: Hey. I managed to figure out that key - problem is, we need the name of the owner's first pet to defuse it.
Player: I know it!
Jina: Alright, I trust you... I think.; Say it out loud... now.

Player: One-Whiskered Sammy.
Jina: That... wasn't right.; Oh no... it's going off!; ...; ...; ...; Oh, it's a dud.; Well, I guess it's all for the best.

Player: One-Eared Sheremy.
Jina: That... wasn't right.; Oh no... it's going off!; ...; ...; ...; Oh, it's a dud.; Well, I guess it's all for the best.

Player: One-Eyed Sheremy.
Jina: You did it!; ... Thankfully.

Player: One-Evil Sammy.

I'm going to keep the key... just in case.

Hopefully any future Florentine findings are less... explosive...
