Letter from Auni
Dear (Player),
Heya! I thought you might wanna know, but I was playing cards with Hassian yesterday and he said he was SUPER annoyed at you! I dunno what for, but you better go check before he explodes.
Auni
Progression
Upon speaking to Hassian
- Player
- Auni said you were annoyed at me.
- Hassian
- ...What?
- I have no idea what you're talking about.
- Player
- Are you sure?
- Hassian
- I think I could know my own mind.
- Player
- Oh, okay!
- If you have so much time to worry about me, you have time to help out around the village.
- Stop wasting my time and do something useful with yours.
Upon speaking to Auni
- Player
- Can I help you with anything?
- Auni
- Oh wow, you wanna help me? I knew Hassian was totally wrong about you.
- I still have some stuff to do, but I'm so hungry I can't concentrate.
- Could you bring me something sweet? It's totally not just because I like sweets. It'll give me lots of extra energy, I promise!
Upon speaking to Chayne
- Player
- Do you need any help?
- Chayne
- I have things well handled here, but I appreciate the thought.
- If you do want to help, I believe Badruu is looking for some carrot seeds. I'm sure he would appreciate it.
Upon speaking to Zeki
- Player
- Can I help you with anything?
- Zeki
- You could start by buyin' something, pal!
- Ahh, just messing with you.
- Or am I?
- Player
- Are you?
- Zeki
- Nope. It's important to support your local businesses!
- Why don'tcha check out my wares? Best prices this side of the Bay!
Conclusion
Upon speaking to Hassian at your plot
- Hassian
- ...It seems I underestimated you.
- Player
- What are you doing here?
- Hassian
- It didn't sit right with me, the words I left you with.
- Player
- I get that a lot.
- Hassian
- Don't make this harder than it has to be.
- Player
- Hi, Hassian!
- Hassian
- ...Hello.
- When we last spoke, I insinuated that you weren't contributing to the village.
- I was wrong.
- ...
- Player
- Don't worry about it!
- Hassian
- I appreciate your... graciousness.
- Player
- I didn't take it to heart.
- Hassian
- You clearly did.
- Player
- Why are you so mean to me?
- Hassian
- It isn't... personal.
- I was misplacing my feelings. I... apologize.
- Player
- What happened?
- Hassian
- I told you before that the chapaas are a menace to Kilima. What I didn't tell you is how they came to be.
- Kenli imported them here when he became mayor. To become... pets.
- Inevitably they escaped and began to breed without restriction.
- I have been petitioning him, unsuccessfully, to do something about this.
- A few days ago, he pushed new legislation to throw a... chapaa day party. To celebrate the creatures!
- Player
- You're really fired up about this, huh?
- Hassian
- Of course I am! The chapaa are a plague that should be eradicated, not celebrated!
- Player
- Oh, that sounds fun!
- Hassian
- It isn’t. It’s a disaster of the highest proportion.
- Player
- Seems like a waste of tax dollars.
- Hassian
- Yet another reason to put a stop to this farce.
- In any case, I was misplacing my frustrations. I know you have nothing to do with the chapaa menace.
- Here, this should help you face the real threat. May your aim be true.
Notes
- You will need to provide Carrot Seed to Badruu, something sugary to Auni, and buy something from Zeki's General Store. One recommendation is to buy the Carrot Seed and Sugar from the General Store.
