Befriending the Blacksmith is an optional Subquest given by Chayne on behalf of Hassian upon reaching Romance Level 3: Star Crossed Lovers. It is only given if you haven't reached Friendship Level 4 with Sifuu.

1. Chayne has been doing some further investigation into Majiri traditions, and he informs you that becoming close with the parents of your object of your affections will be necessary.
   • To reach friendship Level 4 with Sifuu, it's time to start talking to her and gifting her every day.
   • Gifting Starstones and Weekly Wants give a big boost towards friendship points.

Dear (Player),
I hope things are going well between you and Hassian. I did a little more reading, and thought I might send some advice your way. If you want to get even closer to Hassian and continue your relationship, traditional Majiri customs dictate you earn his mother's approval and friendship first.

I wish you luck! Sifuu is a worthy friend to have.
