Fishing Attachments

Description

Fishing Attachments are accessories which make it easier to catch fish. Most attachments can be purchased from the Fishing Guild as the player's fishing level increases. They have a durability bar, which decreases on use. They wear out and break after 25 successful or failed fishing mini-game attempts; including from junk items, quest items, recipes, and Waterlogged Chests.

Fishing attachments can be equipped in combination with any Fishing Rod. To equip an attachment on PC, open the inventory menu, then either right-click on the fishing attachment and select "Equip Gear", or drag the fishing attachment into the fishing attachment slot under "Accessories". To remove an attachment, open the inventory menu, then either right-click on the fishing attachment and select "Unequip Gear", or drag the fishing attachment into an inventory slot under "Items". On Switch, go to the inventory via the Player Menu with button and navigate to "Accessories", then select the "Fishing Attachment" slot and press button to change (equip) the desired attachment. Press button in the same menu to unequip. Fishing attachments cannot be unequipped while the fishing rod is cast.

Fishing attachments do not stack in the inventory; each fishing attachment takes up one inventory slot.

Profitability

The fishing attachments unlocked at fishing level 10 can be purchased from the Fishing Guild and re-sold at the General Store or Shipping Bin to convert Fishing Medals into Gold at a rate of 20 Gold per medal. However, this method is not recommended since it is outperformed by purchasing and selling Glow Worms at a rate of 50 Gold per medal.

The Minor Rod Health Booster can be crafted and sold for 20 Gold more than the combined sell price of its raw materials.

The sell value of fishing attachments does not decrease with use; fishing attachments can be sold after their 24th use for the full 100 Gold price.
