Dialogue and Mail
Introduction
Upon speaking to Auni
- Auni
- Could you do me a favor and get my camping stuff from my treehouse?
- I need to get out of the village for a bit.
- Here's the key.
- Player
- Are you sure your family is ok with this?
- Auni
- They're fine! I doubt they'll even notice I'm gone. Not that it's your business anyway...
- Player
- Why don't you get it yourself?
- Auni
- I would... but I'm kinda busy right now. Is it really that hard to do a kid a favor?
- If you run into my family while you're at it, do me a favor and tell them you're like, helping me clean up or something.
- Once you've got my gear, can you drop it off somewhere for me?
- There's this abandoned campsite near the beach in northern Bahari Bay with some cool ancient ruins right by it. You can't miss it!
Progression
Upon speaking with Auni
- Auni
- Have you dropped off the camping gear yet?
- Remember to set it down by that abandoned campsite near the beach in Bahari Bay, the one by those super cool ancient ruins. You'll know it when you see it!
- And whatever you do, don't tell my family about any of this, got it?

Conclusion
Upon speaking with Auni
- Player
- Your camping gear is all set up.
- Auni
- Sweet, thanks! Before you go, could you maybe teach me how to properly roast a Gillyfin?
- Player
- Are you running away again?
- Auni
- Did you seriously read my diary?! Ugh, you're worse than Nai'o.
- I guess I can add you to the list of people I can't tell anything to.
- Player
- You lied first.
- Auni
- Yeah, well-
- You're right, I guess.
- Player
- You should invest in a lock.
- Auni
- What's the point? No one else care enough to snoop anyways.
- Player
- I'm just worried about you.
- Auni
- I guess that makes you the first. No one else even NOTICED last time I ran away.
- Player
- How long are you usually out delivering mail?
- Auni
- I mean. About six hours, but...
- Player
- What's this really about?
- Auni
- ...
- I just... wanted my family to notice me.
- They're always talking about how good Nai'o is, and how proud they are, and how he'll run the farm one day.
- An' I don't wanna run a farm. I don't want wanna follow my parents' Paths. I'm sure it makes them happy, but it wouldn't make me happy.
- Player
- Why don't you tell them that?
- Auni
- You think they'd listen?
- Player
- They'd better.
- Player
- I'm sure they will.
- Player
- You won't know until you try.
- Player
- Beats learning how to cook.
- Auni
- ...Thanks, (Player). I guess I'll try. If it doesn't work, I've still got my camping stuff!
- Player
- What do you need this stuff for?
- Auni
- I just need...a[sic] little time on my own. Is that so wrong?
- Player
- Well, no, but...
- Auni
- Thanks for getting me the gear. I'll talk to you later, okay?
- Player
- You're like twelve.
- Auni
- So? Najuma gets to play with fireworks and she's basically the same age as me!
- I can camp on my own for a little bit. I've even done it before! I'll be fine.
- Anyways, thanks for getting me the gear. I'll talk to you later, okay?
- Player
- I'm here if you need to talk.
- Auni
- What would I need to talk for? Everything's fine!
- Anyways, thanks for getting me the gear. I'll talk to you later, okay?
- Player
- Seems fine, have fun!
- Auni
- Thanks, (Player). I'll see you later.
- Oh! And before you go, take this super awesome Firebreathing Dragonfly I caught today. Take good care of the lil guy for me!
Post-Quest
Letter from Auni (read diary)
Dear (Player),
So I talked to Nai'o, and I guess it went okay, because he's gonna take me camping with him! In some old human ruins, too! He said he was sorry for being so distracted lately, and that he'd make time to hang out with me more. I guess you were right about that whole talking to people thing, even if you DID snoop on me. I'll let you off the hook this once, okay? And I promise, next time I'll tell you the truth.
Thanks, (Player)!
Auni
Upon speaking to Nai'o (did not read diary)
- Nai'o
- Good, you're here. So, like, I think Auni'l gonna run away.
- Player
- That explains the camping gear...
- Nai'o
- Crap, he's already got the gear? C'mon, Auni!
- He's been acting super weird lately. Getting mad at stuff for no reason, and storming off into his room all the time.
- I know I shouldn't snoop, but he was worrying me, and when I asked about it he wouldn't tell me.
- So I kinda... read his diary.
- Before you say anything, I feel bad about it too!
- But I'd never be able to forgive myself if Auni got hurt. Especially because of me.
- Player
- Why are you telling me?
- Nai'o
- (TBA)
- Player
- Without me? Lame!
- Nai'o
- (TBA)
- Player
- Wait, really?!
- Nai'o
- (TBA)
- So what do you think I should do?
- Player
- Confront him.
- Nai'o
- (TBA)
- Player
- Spend more time with him!
- Nai'o
- (TBA)
- Player
- Ask your parents?
- Nai'o
- Yeah, you're right. They care about him too, I know they do.
- Maybe we'll come up with something together.
- Player
- Run away with him.
- Nai'o
- (TBA)
- Whew. Okay, thanks (Player). I think I know what I'm gonna do.
Letter from Nai'o
Dear (Player),
So I talked to ma and pa about Auni, and both of them were totally surprised too. They had no idea he was feeling that way. We all decided the best thing to do is make sure he knows how much we all care. I'm gonna take him camping this weekend, just me and him, to make up for missing the last time.
Thanks a lot for your advice, (Player). I'm glad Auni's got you looking out for him.
Nai'o
Notes
- After completing the quest, players will receive a letter from Auni in the mail only if they read his journal and triggered the confrontation dialogue. If the journal was not read, instead Nai'o visits the Player's plot.
