Dialogue and Mail

Progression

Upon speaking to Hodari

Player
I noticed you're missing some spices.
Hodari
You an' me both. Don't get me started.
It was full night before last. But when I woke up to make breakfast...
...I had to leave m'eggs unseasoned. I don't wanna talk about it.

Player
That's the saddest thing I've ever heard.
Hodari
I'm gonna choose to believe you're bein' serious, because this is a serious matter.

Player
Can't you buy more?
Hodari
Sure, in a month when the merchant who stocks 'em comes into town again.

Player
UNSEASONED?!
Hodari
I know... I know.

Player
What could have happened to them?
Hodari
That's what I wanna know.

These are spices from my hometown. Can only get 'em when I order them special.
Folks around here... well, they think salt's a spice. The local flavor doesn't exactly stand up.
Look, if you see any spice jars while you're out there adventurin', could you bring 'em back t'me?
Breakfast just won't taste the same without 'em.

Upon returning to Hodari

Player
I found all your missing spices!
Hodari
Huh... looks like y'did. 'Course, I just ordered a new set comin' next month.
Just means I gotta use these up quick. Tell y'what, meet me by the grill at dinner, and I'll make enough for you, too.

Upon meeting Hodari for dinner

Hodari
Lucky for you, s'time for dinner right now.
Here, I'll let you do the honors of seasonin' dinner tonight.

Conclusion

Upon returning to Hodari

Hodari
Good, don't skimp on it. I got fish, sernuk, an' mushrooms. Which one do you prefer?

Player
Fish, please!

Player
Meat all the way!

Player
Mmm, mushrooms.

Hodari
Here y'go.
Y'know what, why don't you take this spare grill I've got? That way, next time you're hungry, y'don't have to run all the way back down here for some proper grillin'.

Notes
