- Pick it up and take it to Chayne.
Dialogue and Mail
Introduction
Upon talking to Chayne
- Chayne
- So...I've studied the flashes on Ignus and I've noticed their patterns match those in the drawings you brought me.
- Unfortunately, I still don't know what they mean. There are symbols under the flashes that I am assuming correspond to some sort of legend with the ancient Human interpretation.
- But the explanation themselves seem to be missing.
- I hate asking this...but I was wondering if you could possibly guide me to the site where you found the tablet?
- Player
- Jina's the expert. Not me.
- Chayne
- Oh, nevermind. I don't want to get her involved. She has enough to worry about with her studies.
Progression
Upon talking to Jina
- Player
- Chayne's looking for a Phoenix moon translation guide.
- Jina
- Hm, you know I haven't really found anything like that...but I have reason to believe that some important documents like that were stored in the Water Temple.
- Why don't you try searching there?
Conclusion
Upon giving Chayne the translation guide
- Player
- Is this what you were looking for?
- Chayne
- Oh my! These symbols match the images below the moon phases exactly. This must be the key I was looking for.
- I don't know how to thank you.
- Player
- I accept payment in food.
- Chayne
- I'll be sure to send you some veggies from my garden as thanks...
- Player
- Knowledge is its own reward.
- Chayne
- That it is!
- If you don't mind me asking, how did you find the guide?
- Player
- Teamwork!
- Player
- Actually, I'm not the one to thank...
- Player
- Jina and I uncovered an old library.
- Player
- You know you told me not to tell anyone...
- Chayne
- I can't believe you shared my research!
- I told you not to bother anyone on my account!
- Please! Leave me alone to meditate on my words before I say something I regret.
Post-Quest
Upon a surprise visit by Chayne
- Chayne
- (Player), I find I must apologize for my outburst.
- You see I am used to solving problems, not causing them...and well, I just didn't like the idea of Jina having to interrupt her studies for me.
- Player
- That's no excuse to be a jerk.
- Player
- It's okay.
- Chayne
- No, it isn't. As the spiritual leader of this community I should hold myself to higher standards.
- Fortunately, the Dragon has granted me the strength and wisdom to put my pride aside. As a result, I have finally interpreted the message from Ignus [sic]
- Player
- What did it say?
- Player
- Did it tell you to get offa that high horse?
- Chayne
- Unfortunately, there is more than one possible explanation since each flash has more than one meaning.
- Currently, my translation states, "Man/King/Humanity is the harbinger of the shadow/darkness/dream."
- Sadly, it appears I am back to square one.
- Player
- Don't worry. You'll figure it out eventually.
- Chayne
- If there is a way, I'm afraid I don't know what it is.
- Player
- I was hoping you'd at least be at square two.
- Chayne
- Me too.
- Regardless, you have been so much help to me that I wanted to do something to thank you.
- So...I made you a telescope. Now you can look to the skies and interpret the Phoenix's messages for yourself. Maybe you'll find something in the stars I didn't.
