- You heard me. Deals like this won't last forever.
- Hundred coins, my last offer.

Progression
Speak to Zeki
- Player
- I wanted to ask about a book.
- Zeki
- Fifty coins.
- Player
- Deal!
- Zeki
- Huh, that was almost too easy. You know what, a hundred coins.
- Player
- You don't even know what book I'm talking about.
- Zeki
- Look, if it's down here it's for sale. Don't know what you want it for, but if you want it, it's worth somethin'.
- Hundred coins, take it or leave it.
- Player
- I've got three gold and some pocket lint.
- Zeki
- Toss in another 97g and you got yourself a deal.
- Player
- You said it was only fifty!
- Zeki
- Things move fast in the world of business, (Player). It's all about supply an' demand.
- You got the demand, and I've got the supply.
- Player
- Fine, I'll pay.
- Zeki
- Well, wouldja look at that! As my hundredth customer today, you've also earned yourself a hundred coin rebate!
- Pleasure doin' business with ya! You can go grab it off the shelf yourself.
- Player
- I can't afford that.
- Zeki
- Well, you know where to find me.
Talk to Zeki again if you chose "I can't afford that"
- Player
- About that book...
- Zeki
- You got the cash?
- Player
- Here you go.
- Zeki
- Well, wouldja look at that! As my hundredth customer today, you've also earned yourself a hundred coin rebate!
- Pleasure doin' business with ya! You can go grab it off the shelf yourself.
- Player
- No...
- Zeki
- Then I guess you'd better figure out how to get some. I hear crime can be real lucrative.
- Note: This dialogue will reset until you pay up.
Speak to villagers who might know how to open the book
- Player
- Can you open this book?
- Caleri
- This... where did you find this?!
- Player
- Zeki
- Caleri
- I doubt he knew what he had, or he wouldn't have given it up.
- Player
- Oh, you know, a shady underground market.
- Caleri
- Zeki, then? I doubt he know what he had, or he wouldn't have given it up.
- This is another one of Illuminary Pompus' volumes. I would recognize that runeworking anywhere.
- ...Ahem. Excuse me, I lost myself for a moment. This volume... I thought the Order had the rest of them burned during the Unification.
- This could very well be the last copy left in the world.
- Player
- Do you know how to open it?
- Caleri
- If it is anything like his other works, then I believe I do, yes.
- Player
- So what's inside?
- Caleri
- I am not quite sure. There are a number of lost volumes that it could be.
- Even during his day, his work was controversial. He would not have labeled it so obviously.
- Player
- I didn't realize it was so special.
- Caleri
- Then I am pleased to have educated you. Illuminary Pompus was a true visionary in the field.
- I believe no one else ever came as close to understanding and unlocking Humanity's secrets.
- Player
- Huh. And here I thought it was someone's diary.
- Caleri
- If Illuminary Pompus kept a diary, such a thing would be worth even more than this.
- What I wouldn't give to be able to see into his mind...
- Ahem. It will take some time to find the correct password to open this book. Would you leave it with me for safekeeping?
- Player
- Sure!
- Player
- For now.
- Caleri
- Thank you, (Player).
- I promise, you will be the first to know when I have unlocked its secrets.
- Jina
- Hmm, I've seen locks like these before. They're usually locked behind a password...
- Oh, see, here? These runes on the spine, these are like... a trap? If you try to force this open without releasing the lock, it'll wipe everything inside.
- Don't ask me how I know that. I don't want to relive the experience...
- A-anyways! Maybe Caleri will know something about its author? If you can get some more information, you might be able to guess the password!
- Reth
- What, you figure just because I'm a known criminal working for a shady underground cartel that I know how to pick locks?
- Because I do. Hand it over.
- Player
- (Hand the book over.)
- Reth
- Man, this thing's stuck on tight. Hold on, I gotta get my special kit out for this one...
- Aaaaand... my pick broke.
- Sorry, fancy pants/sweet tooth,, you'll have to find another handsome rogue to bust that bad boy open. I can't get it to budge.
- Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a lockpick to mourn.
- Tish
- Hmmmm... this doesn't look like any lock I've seen before! I'm not sure it even has a normal mechanism.
- Maybe you can try asking someone who knows about rare books?
- Zeki
- Look, if I knew how to open it, I'da charged you way more for it.
- Thing's locked up tighter than the Akwindu Royal Vault. Think it's some kind of old Human magic sealing it.
Letter from Caleri
Dear (Player),
I believe I have discovered the correct password to unlock the tome you brought me. Meet me in the restricted section so that we might open it together.
Ensure you are not followed.
Caleri
Conclusion
Speak to Caleri in the Restricted Section
- Caleri
- Good, you're here. Lock the door behind you, we don't want prying eyes seeing this collection.
- Before I open this volume, I need some... assurances.
- One, nothing you learn in here will be put to use.
- And two, you will leave it here with me. Knowledge this dangerous cannot be allowed to float around in public, unprotected and unsecured.
- Player
- How do you know it's dangerous?
- Caleri
- It is magic. Of course it is dangerous.
- Player
- Fine, you can keep it.
- Caleri
- A wise choice. I'm glad to see you have some sense.
- Do not worry, I will compensate you for the loss. I daresay I can do a little better than Zeki.
- Player
- Well, I just wasted 100g.
- Caleri
- Do not worry, I will compensate you for the loss. I daresay I can do a little better than Zeki.
- Player
- It's safer with you.
- Caleri
- A wise choice. I'm glad to see you have some sense.
- Do not worry, I will compensate you for the loss. I daresay I can do a little better than Zeki.
- Player
- Seems fair!
- Caleri
- (TBA)
- Player
- It's my property.
- Caleri
- Illuminary Pompus was a Palian Majiri, first and foremost. The mere existence of this book is illegal. If it remains in your possession, you are putting yourself in danger.
- Player
- Fine, you can keep it.
- Caleri
- A wise choice. I'm glad to see you have some sense.

- Player
- Seems fair!
- Caleri
- ...Good. You have some sense after all.
- Do not worry, I will compensate you for the loss. I daresay I can do a little better than Zeki.
- Player
- Why all the cloak and dagger?
- Caleri
- Because both you and I could be arrested for the rest of our lives for even considering unlocking this. Some discretion is wise.
- Player
- Fine, you can keep it.
- Caleri
- A wise choice. I'm glad to see you have some sense.

- (TBA)
- Now that all that messy business is done, let us begin.
- Ahem. "Fiddlesticks."
- Player
- Fiddlesticks???
- Caleri
- ...Yes, Pompus was a bit of a character, as I understand.
- Player
- Did it work?
- Caleri
- It is done. Now, to see what's inside...
- ...
- Fascinating...
- Player
- What's it about?
- Caleri
- It appears to be a recipe book for Flow-infused dishes.
- Player
- I was expecting something more... dangerous.
- Caleri
- Not everything is explosions and adventure, (Player).
- Pompus was interested in all forms of Human runeworking, even the domestic.
- Player
- Food? Jackpot!
- Caleri
- Of course, making any of these recipes would be so cost-prohibitive as to be nearly impossible.
- Raw Flow is both illegal and expensive to obtain.
- Player
- That's it?
- Caleri
- Yes. Were you expecting something more exciting?
- The world of academia rarely exists to entertain.
- Player
- Flow-infused? That is interesting!
- Caleri
- Yes... he seems to have reverse-engineered ancient Human recipes.
- Fascinating... and wasteful. That Humans were so lax with Flow that they would throw it into a dish to spice things up...
- ...Well. I will look through the rest of it later. For now, your payment.
- While none of Pompus' recipes are feasible, I have one of my own that should be perfectly legal to cook.
- And infinitely better tasting, I would imagine.
- Now, if you'll excuse me. Flow-infused nutcake? Fascinating...
