Walkthrough
1. While you were busy chopping away at Heartwood trees in Bahari Bay, you found a glistening amber! What could this be? Find Jina, the local archeologist, to ask her about it.
2. Jina will explain to you what the contents of the amber are. Although you would love to give her the Amber Fossil, see if there are other interested individuals.
- You can offer the amber to Auni, Elouisa, Jina, Tamala and Zeki. They will all be interested in the amber and give unique rewards!
- You have the option to decline, so do not panic if you cannot decide on the spot.
3. If you offered the amber someone other than Jina, let Jina know of your choice!
Dialogue and Mail
Showing Jina the amber
- Player
- I found this amber fossil out in Bahari...
- Jina
- Oh, cool! Is it okay if I take a look at it?
- Hmm... Interesting...
- If I'm right, then this must be... Give me a second to look at my notes... Yes... The markings match up.
- I never thought I'd come across one in such a well-preserved state! This is truly fascinating...
- Player
- Hello? Palia to Jina?
- Player
- Are you going to tell me what it is?
- Jina
- ...Oh! Right!
- Sorry, I totally spaced out there. I guess I'm just excited about seeing a Sunshade Leafhopper with my own two eyes!
- Player
- Sunshade Leafhopper?
- Jina
- Yes. Sunshade Leafhoppers were native to Bahari thousands of years ago, long before the region even got a name.
- They're the ancestors of the elusive Azure Stonehopper, which live in the fields of Bahari Bay.
- They were thought to go extinct around... well, the same time the Humans did.
- Player
- You seem to know a lot about this critter.
- Jina
- Only because I have a close friend who's a biologist! I wouldn't know much about it otherwise.
- Player
- I thought you studied archaeology, not entomology!
- Jina
- I am! ...Studying archaeology, I mean.
- Pretty much everything I know about insects comes from a close friend of mine who's a biologist.
- Jina
- According to her, the only evidence we've had of the Sunshade Leafhopper's existence were a couple of ancient cave drawings and a journal left behind by a Human entomologist.
- Hmm. It turns out that Humans never did go extinct, so I wonder if it's possible the Sunshade Leafhopper still exists, too...?
- ...S-Sorry! I didn't mean to ramble.
- Player
- I can't blame you. Fossils are cool!
- Jina
- They certainly are!
- Player
- I like your rambling!
- Jina
- I always thought my rambling was a bad thing... I guess it's okay to get carried away once in a while.
- Player
- No need to apologize.
- Jina
- Sorry, bad habit. I-I mean, sor- er, yeah. Thanks, (Player).
- Player
- You should work on that...
- Jina
- I'm trying, but I can't help but get carried away from time to time.
- Player
- So... what should I do with the fossil?
- Jina
- If I were you, I'd immediately donate it to Kilima's Natural History Museum for safekeeping... if we had a museum, that is.
- If it's okay with you, maybe I could take the amber fossil off your hands? I think it'd make a great gift and a fascinating research topic for that biologist friend of mine.
- Player
- It's all yours.
- Jina
- Really?! Great!
- Th-Then again, you might want to see if anybody else is interested in it too, before giving it to me. Just to weigh out your options.
- Player
- I'll need to think about it.
- Jina
- Sure, no worries.
- You were the one who found the fossil, so ultimately it's your choice what you do with it.
- ...Of course, I'm secretly hoping you'll give it to me, but no pressure!
- Auni would probably be interested. Elouisa, too, since she always talks about starting a museum. Maybe Zeki or Tamala, too?
- Would you mind doing me a favor and tell me where it ends up? As a researcher, I feel like it's my duty to know what becomes of such a priceless relic.
Talking to Jina again
- Jina
- The journal left behind by the ancient Human entomologist is a compelling piece of work.
- It's a record of their travels across the continents, along with the flora and fauna they encountered on their journey.
- What it really is, is an ode to the wonders of the natural world and the beauty of life.
- If my memory serves me correctly, the journal is currently being held somewhere in the Ancient Library. You should check it out when you can!
- Player
- About the amber fossil...
- Jina
- Oh! Are you interested in giving it to me? I think it'd make a great gift and a fascinating research topic for that biologist friend of mine.
- Player
- You've got a deal.
- Jina
- I'll take it off your hands, then. My friend is going to be soooo thrilled when I give this to her! I can't thank you enough, (Player)!
- Um, by the way, I made this for you to show my appreciation. It's not much, but I hope you like it!
- Player
- Know anyone else I can give it to?
- Jina
- Auni would probably be interested. Elouisa, too, since she always talks about starting a museum. Maybe Zeki or Tamala, too?
- You might want to talk to all of them just to weigh out your options. I can imagine some of them might make an offer you can't refuse.
- ...Of course, I'm secretly hoping you'll give it to me, but no pressure!
Mentioning the amber to Auni
- Player
- Interested in an amber fossil?
- Auni
- Sure, I love fossils! Please tell me it's some super cool ancient bug.
- Player
- How'd you know?
- Player
- A Sunshade Leafhopper, to be exact.
- Auni
- Are you SERIOUS?! Gimme, gimme!
- Here, how's this? Let's trade!
- I get the fossil, and you get...
- Player
- Money's always nice.
- Auni
- What kind of grownup asks a kid for money? Ugh, LAME.
- I've got, like, 10 coins leftover from my allowance. That good enough for you?
- Player
- Food! I'm hungry.
- Auni
- I'll give you an apple pie, a berry pie, AND a jar of jam. All fresh and homemade, by the way.
- Player
- Something cool you found?
- Auni
- I find lots of neat stuff on the daily, but this takes the cake. It's a green pearl!
- I was gonna put it my room, but I'd be willing to let it go for that fossil. So, whaddaya say?
- Player
- Surprise me.
- Auni
- Well, I did get my hands on something pretty interesting lately.
- I won't tell you what it is before giving it to you, though. It's a secret!
- Player
- You've got yourself a deal.
- Auni
- Really?! Nice!
- I promise I'm going to take suuuuper good care of this guy. Here's the stuff I promised ya. Thanks, (Player)!
- Player
- I'll need to think about it.
- Auni
- *sigh* ...Well, poke me once you've made up your mind, 'kay?
- Player
- About the amber fossil...

Mentioning the amber to Elouisa
- Player
- Interested in an amber fossil?
- Elouisa
- Why, yes. Yes indeed! Fossils are fascinating, amber fossils even more so!
- Tell me, what lovely critter is enshrined within it?
- Player
- It's a Sunshade Leafhopper!
- Player
- Take a guess.
- Elouisa
- A Thorny Leafsnapper, with a maw large enough to swallow an entire tree whole?!
- No... A Squigglefang with canines as long as my arm!
- Or perhaps a Towering Bristlefoot who could crush entire mountainsides with a single step?!?!
- Player (Earth)
- Actually, it's a Sunshade Leafhopper!
- Elouisa
- Oh my! A Sunshade Leafhopper?
- They walked, or rather hopped, through our plains around the same time ancient Humans did!
- Perhaps studying their fossilized remains will glean some insight into what became of your kind.
- Might I take it off your hands in exchange for these joyful little critters I happen to have accompanying me?
- Player
- You've got yourself a deal.
- Elouisa
- Wonderful! Oh, my hands are positively trembling with excitement!
- You have my eternal gratitude, (Player)!
- Expect me to contact you with my findings once I've brought this little critter back to life!!!
- Player
- I'll need to think about it.
- Elouisa
- Take all the time you need to ruminate!
- Player
- About the amber fossil...
- Elouisa
- Ah, yes! I haven't forgotten that I offered you a few joyful critters in exchange for your fossilized one.
- Player
- You've got yourself a deal.
- Elouisa
- Wonderful! Oh, my hands are positively trembling with excitement!
- You have my eternal gratitude, (Player)!
- Expect me to contact you with my findings once I've brought this little critter back to life!!!

- I'll need to think about it.
- Elouisa
- Take all the time you need to ruminate!
Mentioning the amber to Tamala
- Player
- Interested in an amber fossil?
- Tamala
- That depends on what is inside of it.
- Player
- (Tell Tamala about the Sunshade Leafhopper)
- Tamala
- A Sunshade Leafhopper... How curious.
- The poor little thing was probably going about its usual business without any clue of its impending demise.
- I can only imagine its agony when it realized it was trapped in the resin, unable to do a thing as more and more leaked out of the tree and onto its body.
- Player
- Do you have to be so graphic?
- Tamala
- Such is the nature of life, darling. We all die eventually. Some of us more brutally than others.
- Player
- That's a sad way of thinking about it.
- Tamala
- Such is the nature of life, darling. We all die eventually. Some of us more brutally than others.
- Player
- Maybe it was dead before that happened.
- Tamala
- That would certainly be the most hopeful explanation, wouldn't it?
- Player
- What a way to go!
- Tamala
- Indeed. Though, I can think of a few fates more miserable than that of our fossilized friend here.
- Tamala
- After learning of the very interesting circumstances leading to this fossil's creation, I have to say I can think of many... uses for this.
- Oh, don't give me that look. I don't have an evil bone in my body. Be a dear and give it to little ole me, won't you?
- Player
- For a price.
- Tamala
- Hmph. I should have suspected you wanted something out of this.
- If you insist on making this a transaction, then I suppose I can spare you a few coins for this. Would 800 coins suffice?
- Player
- Say please...
- Tamala
- Don't expect me to play these silly little games with you, darling.
- If you wanted a playmate, all you needed to do was ask Hassian if you could chase after sticks and balls with his plumehound.
- I can offer you 800 coins for that piece of amber. No more, no less.
- Player
- No.
- Tamala
- Do yourself a favor and take back that rejection, darling. It isn't every day you'll find someone so willing to pay coins for that little fossil of yours.
- 800 coins, darling. You won't find a better offer anywhere else.
- Player
- You've got yourself a deal.
- Tamala
- Good. I knew you would say yes to me. Everybody does.
- I'll take that...
- ...And you can take these coins.
- That was easy, wasn't it? Morality always ceases to exist when money is involved...
- Player
- I'll need to think about it.
- Tamala
- Are you stringing me along? I'll have you know that my time is more valuable than any piece of amber.
- Don't speak to me about this again until you've made up your mind.
- Player
- About the amber fossil...
- Tamala
- Either you sell it to me, or you don't. Do not waste my time.
- Tamala
- Ugh. I've had enough of your games.
- You can take your silly little fossil and offer it to someone else!
Mentioning the amber to Zeki
- Player
- Interested in an amber fossil?
- Zeki
- Depends on what's inside of it.
- A rare and enchanted creature? Heck yeah. A plain old ant? Eh, not so much. Not unless they've got crazy-lookin' wings or horns on 'em.
- Player
- What about a Sunshade Leafhopper?
- Zeki
- Dunno what the Veil that is, so sure, why not?
- But only if I can get it for a good price.
- Player
- How much are you willing to pay?
- Zeki
- Well, you're gonna have to convince me if you want me to pay anything above 500 coins.
- Player
- Sunshade Leafhoppers went extinct a long time ago.
- Zeki
- So did a buncha other things. No offense, but that doesn't change my mind on the value of this thing.
- Sorry, kid. It's 500 coins or nothin'.
- Player
- There's only one of these fossils in existence.
- Zeki
- Is that so... Can ya prove it?
- ...I'm just pulling your leg, pal. Even I can't prove somethin' like that.
- 600 coins. That sound fair to ya?
- Player
- Dozens of prestigious institutions are after this.
- Zeki
- You're joking! Ya got a whole list of rich big wigs lining up for this hunk o' junk?
- I hope that includes Mr. and Mrs. Bahari, 'cause I'm about to snatch your trash for the handsome price of 700 coins. Ya can't get any better than that!
- Player
- Just trust me, bro.
- Zeki
- Pfft! Trust you? Why would I do that?
- It's not like I'd confide my deepest darkest secrets to ya in a heartbeat or anythin'.
- 600 coins. Take it or leave it, buddy.
- Player
- You've got yourself a deal.
- Zeki
- Sweet! My paws are just itchin' to get a hold of this thing.
- Here's what I promised ya. Keep the change.
- Player
- I'll need to think about it.
- Zeki
- Oh, c'mon, pal! It's bad manners to back outta deal after you've already offered your goods to a potential buyer.
- ...Well, my offer's still open if ya change your mind.
- Player
- I'll need to think about it.
- Zeki
- Oh, c'mon, pal! It's bad manners to back outta deal after you've already offered your goods to a potential buyer.
- Go waste someone else's time, buddy. Ya ain't trickin' me twice!
- Player
- About the amber fossil...
- Zeki
- What about it? Ya here to accept my offer or what?
- 500 coins. Take it or leave it.
- Player
- You've got yourself a deal.

Post-Quest
Letting Jina know about the recepient
- Jina
- I'm curious, (Player). Who did you end up giving the amber fossil to?
- Player
- Auni
- Jina
- If there's anyone who would want it more than me, it would definitely be Auni. I can imagine you made his entire week by giving it to him.
- Player
- Elouisa
- Jina
- Somehow, I expected that would happen. That explains why she's been extra energetic lately.
- Player
- Tamala
- Jina
- Oh, that's interesting. Call it intuition, but I had a feeling she'd be into something like a fossilized Sunshade Leafhopper.
- Player
- Zeki
- Jina
- Zeki, huh? I kind of expected he'd be interested in it.
- Jina
- I-if I can be honest, I'm a little disappointed you didn't end up giving it to me... but I respect your decision.
- Who knows? Maybe this is just the beginning, and we'll find even more amber fossils after this.
- I'll need to apply for a permit to excavate in Bahari sometime soon...
Notes
- Tamala will be the only villager who will not offer Players infinite chances, only 2. Players can only give Tamala the Amber Fossil during the first encounter and returning to her.
- Refusing Zeki without hearing the deals will end all options to offer the Amber Fossil to him again.
- Offers from Auni and Zeki will depend on the Personality Path chosen during the first interaction.
Update History
